Flashback Friday: Fathers

It only seems fitting that this week's Flashback Friday has to do with Fathers.
So, join me as I flash back to Christmas 2007, which was the last Christmas we spent at home. In fact, this was a short 5 days before we left Ohio for Idaho. We had a Midnight Christmas that year, (We celebrated at midnight between Christmas Eve and Christmas) because there was just so much going on! We took lots of pictures that night, knowing that we were leaving, and the above is my and my Dad.

Flashing back even farther to another incredible Father...this is my Grandfather in Japan many years ago. Grandpapa was in the Navy. (He's not the Japanese artist) Grandpapa is just an amazing man! He is one of the best people I know. A wonderful father, and an amazing grandfather!

This is a father I wish I'd had the chance to know. This is my Great-Grandfather, and by all accounts he was the most amazing man who ever lived! Hard working, loving, always smiling, devoted...I have never heard anything but wonderful things about My Great-Grandpa Shick!

I was blessed enough to know my Great-Grandpa Armstrong, and he too was an amazing and wonderful man. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of him in my computer. (I don't have a picture at all actually. I'll have to ask my Grandmother if she can help me get a hold of one.)

And last but not least, the shortest Flash Back so far...just over 14 months ago to a brand new Father...my hubby! I can't begin to express what an amazing father my son has, nor can I describe the amazing bond between my husband and son. He is such an amazing father!!!

I am so blessed to have so many amazing fathers in my life! I wish I could be with all of them this weekend, but they will all be in my thoughts!

Have a great Father's Day everyone!

I love the old Navy pic. It definitely makes me think of my Dad. Not only was he in the Navy, but he was a small child when the Japanese invaded the Philippines in WWII. Great flashback!

I love them all - now I'm inspired to dig deeper and find a good picture of my grandfather. Thank you!

That picture of your Grandpa is awesome.

And how cool to celebrate Christmas that year at midnight. I've always wanted to do that, but its just never been something that my family has done.
