Our Family

Mr. & Mrs.

At 16 years old I met this curly haired, freckled, cute, funny guy who made me laugh at work and quickly became one of my best friends. Two years later we decided to make a go at it and see if our friendship could develop into anything more. (Who am I kidding? I was head over heels by then! He just took a little time to catch up.) We've now been together for fourteen years, and married for almost eleven of those. It has been a wild ride filled with ups, downs, and terrifying loops, but I can't think of anyone else I would rather be on this ride with. Three states, three children, and a thousand crazy stories later, and I am still so happy and honored to have him as my partner in this crazy little thing called life.

In August of 2008 we found out that the think we had been wishing for, praying for, and working towards for the last several years was finally going to happen. I was pregnant. Eight months later I met the second little man in my life. Parker. Our boy with a million names. He's our miracle, and we are so blessed to have him in our lives. I know that, as his mother, I am expected to say this, but I have never met another child with a heart and soul like his. He's a little piece of Heaven walking around here on Earth, and every day he makes me want to be a better person for him. He was my first little piece of my soul that I sent out there into the world, and I watch him touch that world every day. He's also frighteningly smart and already has all the sass I had expected from my teenagers. I am assuming that I'm just getting mine back with him, and most days I am okay with that. I so look forward to watching the person he grows to be. He is also, and I'm not just saying this because I am his Mommy, one of the most amazing big brothers I have ever seen. Hands down.

I never knew that a person could be blessed with so much, but we welcomed our second little miracle into this world in August of 2011. From the moment that they placed him on my chest I knew that life was never going to be the same again, and I have been right so far! From birth on he was my "man of a million faces", and he still has the best expressions. He's been in complete and total awe of his big brother since the first moment they meant, and that hasn't changed either, even though awe also includes some impressive battles. He marches to his own beat, and doesn't seem to care what anyone else thinks of that. He would appear, to many, to be a typical rough and tumble little boy, but he also takes things to heart more than most. If Parker is my mini-me, Bash is my counter balance. He only opens up to those who are in his very special inner circle, but if you are one of those lucky few, you are in for a real treat. Middle child? Bash is text book, but it is just part of what makes him special. He's also, despite swearing up and down that he only wanted a brother and would cry and cry if a sister arrived, an amazing big brother! He had a great example before him.

After all the blue in my life I was ready for more. She surprised me though, and has been doing it daily ever since too.
